Title and Deed - A Play by Will Eno

Laugh out loud funny one minute, powerfully poignant the next. “Oh would some Power the gift give us, to see ourselves as others see us” Robert Burns. A stranger who is “not from here” wanders on stage and speaks directly to us, talking about what divides and unites us. His monologue weaves a treasure trove of insights and inventions, leaving us – the audience – the knotty task of disentangling one from the other. Those same threads bind us to this character in a shared sense of jeopardy. We are not him, but is he, in some mirror-like way, us? A play about belonging and difference, timely for our fractured society. Expect an evening in the theatre like no other.

Performed by Philip Robinson, directed by Polly Whitfield. Catch him before this stranger “falls to earth” elsewhere in the UK, Scandinavia and North America

Living Room Theatre is a Devon-based project touring plays into houses and small cosy theatres across the UK, Scandinavia and North America. Will Eno’s “Title And Deed” follows on from Samuel Beckett’s “Krapp’s Last Tape” which toured domestic settings last year. Performed by Philip Robinson, directed by Polly Whitfield.
