Saturday 10th March - 8:00 pm
Tickets: £9/concessions £7
Back in the ring for round seven, please join us for a no holds barred celebration of International Women’s Day at the Acorn Penzance, on Saturday, March 10th.
This year’s charity cabaret line up includes: brilliant virtuoso violinist Annabel Lainchbury; jazzy singer-songwriter Kelsey Michael; the politically provocative chanteuses Delpha Hudson and Rene Crouch; a theatrical interlude featuring Penzance’s women’s football team circa 1920; a return of Fiona Richardson’s award-winning dancers, some exotic Bollywood from Inspirasian, and the cabaret’s perennially silly in-house dance troupe; hard-hitting performance poetry from Megan Chapman aka MCMC; Stacey Guthrie’s exceptional video art films; gravity-defying trapeze from the amazing Airfish Aerial; and much more.
And we’re delighted to announce the return of our marvellous Mistresses of Ceremony, The Two Marys. Once seen, forever indelibly etched in your memory (in a good way!) plus the terrific tombola, epic auction and after party in the bar.
Held in celebration of women everywhere – our struggles, strengths and achievements – proceeds this year will again be going to PLAN (educating girls) and charities supporting women. Dress as your favourite heroine, and bring a bra for our Big Bra Box, raising money for breast cancer research. Not just for women, men are welcome too, so spread the word and help ensure the future for girls is bright, equal, safe and rewarding. Tickets at £9/£7 conc. available through the Acorn Box Office in advance, doors open 7pm for 8pm curtain up.
