Thursday 12th October - 8:00 pm
THE BELLA CABARET CLUB is coming to Cornwall this autumn at The Acorn Theatre Penzance on Thursday 12th October. Featuring the amazing Jackie Juno, Circe’s Diner & Louella Jade Eke. An evening of Comedy, Spoken Word, Original Songs & Magic.
They have all been very busy on the festival circuit this year. From Ted Talks to the Glastonbury Festival Poetry Slam 2017, Boomtown to Ronnie Scott’s and the Glastonbury BBC stage to Boardmasters.
JACKIE JUNO – is a compere, stand-up poet and multiple slam winners – including Glastonbury Festival Poetry Slam 2017! Lover of owls, hater of bigots; wild child, rock chick and mad mare, she is “warm and witty, frank and feisty – and very very funny” (Matt Harvey, Radio 4)
CIRCE’S DINER is dedicated to self-penned, honest, rootsy tunes, the music from The Diner touches base with Country, Americana, Folk and Pop traditions yet the presentation and lyrical content draw inspiration from everyday life through wondrous tales of love, loss, friendship and tigers!
Their tracks have been taken to live radio performances, airplay with BBC Introducing, live video favourites with Balcony TV, Sofar Sounds, film sync (High Tide. 2015) and many performances across the UK and Europe including Glastonbury Festival and performing to the Great British Bakeoff’s family in the final.
LOUELLA JADE EKE’s is an accomplished singer-songwriter from Cornwall. With sweet honey melodies that have a whiskey kick over a strong rhythm guitar style, she can really captivate an audience.
She has influences in many genres so her songs are varied reaching from folk to blues to rock and roll. A roller coaster of emotion and feel.
“Louella’s astonishing lyrical range is capable of evoking anything. Projecting folk and blues across a contemporary backdrop with crystalline clarity” Kris Needs
With Moon Pixie as your door hostess, jugglers & other entertainers also joining the evening…
The Bar of The Acorn will be opening at 7pm and the Cabaret starts at 8pm.
