Saturday 9th December - 7:30 pm

You are invited to this wonderful night of seasonal music, mystical songs, ice-tipped tales, evergreen rituals and vibrant festive dancing.

As part of their autumn-to-winter concert tour, which travels from the canyons of southern California coast to the Scottish Highlands, Nigel and Carolyn will be returning to the craggy fringes of Cornwall. This intimate evening of music and songs will honour the approaching wild mystery of the dark months and celebrate the brilliant illuminations of frost and fire. They will share music from their new and recent work, including the albums FLOW, COPPER TALES and BONES, creating a weave of sound and song using beautifully meditative instrumentals, wildly energetic drum chants and exquisite ancient songs with which to dance into the festive season. You are warmly invited to join them!

Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer are musicians & artists who live and work in the heart of Dartmoor.  Between them they have created over thirty music albums, the inspiration for their work drawn significantly from the raw beauty and ancient spirit of the wild landscape that surrounds them. Their live performances are a magical tapestry of traditional instruments and extraordinary songs. They make most of the wooden flutes and skin drums with which they perform and have travelled with their work to Australia, USA, Canada, Jamaica, Central America, the Arctic, Russia and throughout Europe. Recent tours have included concerts with reindeer-herding tribal singers of the Siberian tundra, and inside Buddhist mountain temples in Japan.
