A message to prospective volunteers

Back in March 2011 a meeting took place at The Acorn at which many of you expressed an interest in volunteering to help run The Acorn. We haven’t forgotten or mislaid your offers, but we had to start by reconstituting the Board of Trustees, and then doing other important things, such as formulating a substantial business development plan (required as a condition of this year’s Arts Council and Cornwall Council funding), seeing to the building, starting up a programme of events, putting the bar on a sound footing and recruiting an administrator. It has been a long haul, but we have now done all these and so we can now see where we need help from volunteers and how to make good use of you.

We aim to make volunteering at The Acorn a fun and rewarding experience. You’ll receive training and you’ll be working in a team, so there will be plenty of mutual support.
